Ryoko
Of all the characters in the Tenchi Muyo series Ryoko is my favorite. She causes so much trouble for poor Tenchi. Ryoko draws her power from three stones one around her neck and one on each wrist.Ryoko is the protagonist in this series. She is an Oni, an ancient Japanese devil. She was created by Washu my using a simple life form called Mass and from one of Washu's egg cells. Because of this Washu considers Ryoko as more of a daughter rather than an invention. When Zero copied Ryoko she absorbed some of her memories. After Zero allowed her emotions to surface, Washu combined Zero and Ryoko. The result was Ryoko with more obvious emotions. Ryoko's chief rival for the affections of Tenchi is Princess Ayeka. Ayeka is the crowned princess of Jurai and has the mannerisms and powers that come with her position. While Ryoko is outgoing and brash, Ayeka is more withdrawn and proper. |

Azaka
Azaka can attack by firing lasers while flying about individually. However, his most powerful attack can only be performed while both are present. They can emit massive amounts of electricity. This can be used as either a physical attack or to form a force field for defense. He can also absorb normal matter which allows them to imprison anyone like he did to Ryoko. |
Sakuya
Sakuya is a new character introduced in Tenchi in Tokyo which is also known as Shin Tenchi Muyo. She is the first character who Tenchi falls in love with. As you can imagine this does not go over very smoothly with the girls back at the house. Specifically Ayeka and Ryoko. While Sakuya is a normal human she is putting herself in danger by getting involved with Tenchi. After all he's on the hit list of many an alien villain. No to mention the danger involved in getting in the way of Ayeka and Ryoko. |

Sasami
Sasami is the younger sister of Ayeka. Sasami is a paradox of childishness and maturity. While she enjoys the childhood pleasures she also harbors a deeper level of maturity. Being a member of the Jurain Royal Family she inherited some abilities. But she lost these during her unfortunate incident. |
Ryo-Ohki
Ryo-Ohki transforms into the space pirate Ryoko's spaceship, which can be seen below. While Ryoko was being controlled by Kagato in the OAV, Ryoko and Ryo-Ohki lead the only successful attack planet Jurai. Ryo-Ohki's power comes from Ryoko's gems which is the same as the power that comes from the trees of Jurai. Since this power is the same she was able to sneak past the defense systems that prevent non Jurain ships from entering Jurai space without permission. During this battle Sasami was killed and after which Yosho went off to fight Ryoko on planet Earth. |

Officer first class Kiyone Makibi
On her first assignment she was assigned a partner named Mihoshi. Mihoshi was a bubbly headed blonde. She single-handedly caused the downward spiral of Kiyone's career. She did nothing on purpose its just the way Mihoshi is. Her future as a Galaxy Police detective was put on hold and she became a resident officer on a remote planet named Earth. |
Noboyuki
Noboyuki is the lucky devil that Achika fell in love with. They later married and nine years later gave birth to Tenchi. After Achika's death he never remarried. One of the reasons that Achika is believed to have fell in love with him is his appearance is similar to that of her father's During the movie Tenchi Muyo in Love Noboyuki was shown much younger. When he was he looked a lot like Tenchi. |

Tenchi
Ever since he was young his grandfather trained him in the art of swordplay each summer while he was off from school. He trained less at home in the suburbs every night. He never knew why his grandfather trained him but he just accepted it. Tenchi grew up most of his life without his mother, who died when he was very young. He was raised by his father, Noboyuki and his grandfather Katsuhito. Because of this Tenchi gained a sense of responsibility.Tenchi has a kind heart and is a bit indecisive when it comes to women. He has women who are interested in him all around him but he's yet to follow through with any of them. Ryoko, Ayeka, Sasami, Mihoshi, and Washu all have some interest for Tenchi. |
Kagato
He was Yosho's friend growing up. Their power rivaled each other and Kagato was considered the greatest Jurain swordsman. Kagato failed to control the Jurai power that he possessed. This twisted him into an evil man who takes pleasure in killing people. Because of this Yosho was forced to fight him. After his defeat Kagato's name was erased from Jurain history. Yosho then became the greatest Jurian swordsman. But the dark power that made him protected him and brought him to it. It taught him how to use the Black Jurain Arts. After his training was complete her returned and ascended the Jurain throne claiming to be the lost Yosho. Nobody challenged his claim to the throne because his display of Jurain power was too powerful to be anyone else's. He ordered the unjust capture of any who might oppose him. He defeated Yosho and Tenchi took up the torch to defeat him. |

Mihoshi
Mihoshi is a member of the Galaxy Police (GP) she only got this position because the Grand Marshall is her grandfather. The GP thought that they could handle one person as clueless as Mihoshi by assigning her to a remote sector in the Sol system. It's quiet there, nothing really big happens there, Right? What's the worst that could happen? Unfortunately that's where Tenchi lives and as you can tell things around Tenchi are hardly normal. Maybe they should have tried a more remote system... Mihoshi's grandfather is the Grand Marshall of the Galaxy Police. Because of this Mishoshi's chief and commanding officer have to take good care of his granddaughter. |
Washu
Washu is one of those people in the universe that you just don't mess with. She always seems to be ready for whatever happens to be in her way. Some of her inventions include: Mecha-Washu, Mecha-Ryoko, The Galaxy Destroyer, A door that can connect any two points within space, and a machine that can generate any space/time that you want. All this and they still had to buy a karaoke machine.

Yosho Jurai
Yosho was the only child of Jurai King Azusa and an earthling descendent of Masaki: Funaho. Because of his mixed heritage, his life was complicated to say the least. |
Achika Masaki
Achika is the daughter of Yosho. Yosho, who had rejected the throne had hoped to send her back to Jurai to take his place as the Ruler of Jurai. She began training in swordplay and learning how to wield Jurai power. She quickly became disinterested in training, and just wanted to live a normal life on Earth. She stopped her training and went to school. There she met Nobiyuki who she later married and gave birth to Tenchi. |
